Increase Profits & Make Money on eBay by Standing Out From the Crowd!
Did You Know...724,000 people use eBay to earn Part-Time and Full-Time Income? Will you be next?
With millions of items being listed on eBay every day, it’s important to take extra steps to differentiate yourself from the competition. What is your plan? What is your strategy? How will you stand out from the crowd?
What are you eBay goals? Do you want to make a few hundred dollars a month "extra income" or do you want to become a high-level PowerSeller? Perhaps you're already doing well on ebay on eBay and want to take your business to a whole new level?
In each newsletter issue my goal is to share information with you to help you succeed, based on my own eBay selling experiences. Thank you for taking the time to read each newsletter issue - I hope you are achieving your desired results!
To start, let's review some of the more obvious ways to encourage people to buy from you. These would include:
-having a lower price
-using ID verify to establish trust and credibility (if you are a new seller)
-having a high Feedback score with an excellent positive to negative ratio
-effective use professional listing templates and have an About Me page.
One key to success is to monitor your competition. What do other sellers in your category include in their listings? How do their listings look? What makes their listings stand out – and how can you surpass their level of performance?
To stand out from the crowd on eBay, try these strategies:
Combine Shipping
This is a great strategy when you have lots of items listed. It's purpose is to incentive buyers to purchase multiple items from you. The first thing you need to do is make it clear, in your listing policies, that you will combine shipping if the buyer purchases multiple items from you. In the case of light but valuable items, you might offer to waive shipping if the buyer purchases two or more, or charge a single shipping fee for as many items as the buyer wants to purchase. In other cases – that are more appropriate for heavier and lower-cost items – you might lower the shipping cost on multiple purchases.
Use holiday tie-ins in your descriptions
Another advanced strategy is to sell calendar-specific products. For example, people often search on eBay for specific, calendar-related gifts. As an example, let's say you sell video games during Christmas. In this case you would want to include "Christmas Gift" in the title of your listing. Also consider Easter, Mother’s Day, Fathers Day, Hanukkah, Valentines, Birthdays, Weddings, etc.
Use Product Bundling
This strategy is used very commonly with electronics. For example, someone selling cameras might bundle a camera with film, batteries, and a case. Merchants selling video games could bundlie three or four games together, etc.
Use your own creativity to create your own product bundle.
Offer free shipping
Some merchants provide free shipping and include that information in the listing title. Sometimes eBay runs Free Shipping promotions, and links to free-shipping listings. Also, some buyers search the term free shipping along with the product they’re looking for.
Caution: eBay does not charge you final value fees on shipping. However, when you include "free shipping" with your listing, you'll pay eBay for the total selling price of the item...and with free-shipping included in your listing you end up paying eBay fees on the total amount, INCLUDING the shipping.
Include “bonuses”
The bonuses concept is similar to bundling, but this time you “throw in” an extra product, some relatively low-cost item that you tell the buyer he’ll get for free – perhaps a free memory card with a high-priced digital camera, free poker chips with a poker table, a free variety pack of paper with a laser toner cartridge, etc. In some cases, the free item can actually be used as a sample to bring people back to your store.
If your bonuses have a high perceived value, include this added incentive in your eBay listing.
As compelling as it may be to take the prospect up on his/her offer, I would encourage to not to do so.
Until the next issue...
Knowing No Boundaries
