Learn How To Sell 20%...30%...40%... With ONE Easy Trick

This article will show you how you can generate as much as 20%, 30% or even 40% increase in your eBay income, without paying eBay any extra listing fees for those items? Well, here’s a strategy that allows you to do exactly that… and you won’t believe how easy it is to put into action.

Anytime you can avoide paying eBay fees - and put the savings in YOUR pocket it will increase your profit margins. Sales are good - profits are better!

This strategy is called Relisting Your Item. Here's what we know: even the best eBay sellers aren't going to sell every item that is listed for sale - at least not the first time! (This is especially true if you list lots and lots of items—not even the most successful PowerSellers enjoy 100% sell-through rates!) Even sellers who list items with a .99 cent starting bid (and no reserve) aren't guaranteed that every item will sell the first time it's listed.

IMPORTANT: eBay allows you to relist unsold items and—if the item then SELLS—you pay NO additional relisting fees! With this strategy you can…

  • Sell more items for less fees, as there’s no insertion fee for relisting an unsold item if it sells. (Of course, you'll still have to pay eBay the final value fess for the item that sells)
  • Gain additional exposure for your auctions by listing them a second time at no additional charge by eBay.
  • Take advantage of the option to revise and improve your auction when you relist it.
  • Use a quick and easy relisting process that’s much faster than listing your item from scratch.

Let’s look at an example of how this strategy works…

How to use eBay’s relisting option

Say you list 100 pairs of shoes and sell 75 of them the first time you list them. You relist the remaining 25, and you sell another 18 pairs.

This means that, if your insertion fees are $1 a pair, you would pay $100 in insertion fees for selling your first 75 items. Then, as you only pay full insertion fees if a relisted item doesn’t sell, you’d pay only $7 for effectively listing another 25 items, with 18 further sales! So you save $18 in additional fees and sell more of your stock!

(Unfortunately, you can only relist an item once, so you’d need to list the remaining seven pairs of shoes in the usual way.)

You can see how these savings—spread across hundreds of listings—can really add up, while at the same time allowing you to keep your inventory moving.

In fact, you may even be able to sell a higher percentage of your relisted items, because eBay allows you to revise the auction listing when you relist. So you can change the title, starting price, product description, images, and so on to try and make the auction more attractive the second time around.

Tips for relisting items

Before you relist your item, take a look at why the item didn't sell and try to figure out how you can improve the auction make it better the next time around. That means checking out competitors’ auctions in case, for example, someone is selling at a much lower price of offering free shipping.

Here are a few areas you can improve on to increase your chances of making a sale:

  • Category: Make sure you’re in the category that maximizes your item’s exposure to your target audience
  • Auction listing title: Make sure your title contains all the necessary keywords that will make it easy for people to find your auction
  • Starting price: Try reducing the starting price to drive more traffic to your auction and start a bidding war
  • Images: Try adding more images to showcase your item
  • Description: Add more detail about the item to the product description to allow bidders to make an informed decision

Once you’ve worked out a better way to sell your item, you can relist it as follows…

How to relist your items on eBay

Immediately after an auction ends, eBay will ask you if you want to relist the item. Or, if you wait a while to think about how you can best relist it, you can follow these steps:

Step #1: Go to My eBay, and click on “Unsold Items”

Step #2: Choose an item you want to relist, and click on the “Relist” link

Step #3: Use the option to revise your auction details, or just list it in exactly the same way

It’s as easy as that!

Relisting items on eBay after they don’t sell the first time is a great way to sell more items, keep you stock moving, and give your auctions more exposure.

It’s also an excellent way to learn about what factors influence the success of auctions on eBay as, by revising certain key elements before relisting, you’ll see how you can make sure your items sell the FIRST time… every time!
